Review:

Thank you to Jill Burkinshaw for inviting me on this tour and Joanna Larum for providing me with a copy of the book.

This is not my usual kind of book but I enjoy a bit of magic so I thought I’d give it a go!

Charlie and Rosie are just normal kids until one day when Charlie, running late for school runs into a strange woman who gives him a cube that he must protect. He finds out that he is the keeper of the casket, an ancient jail that houses the most evil creatures on the planet.

The Leven Casket is a fabulous adventure for children, full of magic, mayhem and plenty of peril.

Charlie and Rosie are terrific characters who compliment each other well, Rosie being brave and smart, Charlie, who’s just as brave and smart but a little more cautious.

I loved Apertaxus the dragon or Taxus for short, because well, who doesn’t love a talking dragon?  Anyway, he’s a little grumpy, a little sassy but he’s got a big heart.

I did feel like the story was a little rushed in places but of course that’s just my opinion.

The Leven Casket great little adventure and a good start to this magical series.

About The Author:

I only went to school to learn to read. At age 6, I decided I COULD read and promptly left, by the school gate, the same gate which my mother marched me back through 10jo minutes later. So I had to spend the next 12 years at school, learning lots of different things, none of which lived up to the excitement of reading. Wanting to be a writer was a natural progression, because there is nothing as exciting as inventing the story yourself. But it’s taken over 50 years before I dared to present my stories for other people to read. So, here they are! I’ll just creep behind the sofa.
