This is the sixth book in the DI Bliss series and while it can be read as a standalone I would recommend reading a few of the other books in the series first just as the story does refer to earlier events.
Endless Silent Scream does feel like Bliss’ greatest hits, with a return to his first case when he was assigned to Peterborough, along with guest appearances from a former flame and Bliss’ old bosses and colleagues.
Bliss was on fine form through the book with his trademark grumpy attitude and rule bending ways but we got to see a softer side of him watching the relationship grow between him and Molly who he saves from jumping off a hotel roof.
I did feel there were a couple of minor things that weren’t fully explained (or if they were I may have missed them) but the ending was very satisfying.
Endless Silent Scream is a complex and compelling police procedural, packed full of action, mystery and emotional moments.
