Review:
I want to thank Bloodhound Books for my advanced copy of this book and Sarah Hardy for organising this blog tour.
Katrina Wallace goes missing. Texas detectives Frank Pierce and Rob Soliz are put on the case, but they have to handle it with care as Katrina is the Mayor’s daughter.
A mysterious Bible is found in her car, with the word Wormwood highlighted.
What is Wormwood and what has it got to do with the missing girl?
I loved the bromance between the Frank and Rob. Opposites attract isn’t that what they always say? Frank is perpetually single with a very analytical mind and no faith in religion. Rob is a devout Catholic, married and is the muscle of the team. But they work together brilliantly and bounce off each other, it was incredibly interesting to read.
If like me you’re a bit of an atheist or believe in a different God don’t let the Biblical references put you off, it’s a great book. I don’t even know if Wormwood is a real thing either, I kind of always thought it was a type of tree.
The pace was a little slow at times but it built to a heck of a nail biting ending.
We learn quite a lot about Frank and his tragic past throughout the novel but I’d like to see a bit more about Rob in the next instalment.
Rating: 4/5
